Time Management Secret: “YES Makes Less” from “Writers In The Storm” (#blogboost)

Time-clock-clip-art

Jenny Hansen is one of my favorite bloggers; I know I’ve said that before, but it’s worth repeating. She has an excellent post on the Writers in the Storm blog about time management that is worth your while to read. She explains the phrase “Yes Makes Less.”

Go on over to Writers in the Storm and give it a read, and let me know what you think. Do you agree or disagree? Why?

  1. I don’t know,John. I’m sure this is right, but I’m just finding my way back to creativity. And I work ALL DAY and there’s guitar to play and my regular housekeeping and then..it’s time for bed. I wish there was a way. I really do.

    1. It gets easier as you do it more. Even if you start with half an hour a day, make that sacrosanct: you don’t answer the phone, check email, log on to Facebook, whatever; that’s your time to write, play the guitar, or whatever other creative pursuits you might have. It’s worth a try.

  2. Oh my goodness, how sweet are you, John?!! Thanks for reblogging this. Steven Pressfield rocks. And the Art of No is a tough one to learn. 🙂

    1. I wouldn’t have said it if I hadn’t meant it. You have lots of fun on your blog. I’m working to make mine as much fun.

A priest friend of mine said that the two steps to time management were setting your priorities and saying no to everything else. Like you said, easier said than done…
