Ever Feel This Way? #1LinerWeds

Saw this on Facebook recently, and thought it was oddly appropriate.

One-Liner Wednesday is brought to you each week by Linda Hill and this station. Now this word from Dr. Tichenor’s Antiseptic.

  1. The last few weeks, being out of work and the kids not being in school, I couldn’t tell you what day it was, either. I didn’t mind, because it meant there was nothing on the books! Retirement must be like that more often than not? I’ve had my days and dates messed up for a while, but I’m getting back on track again.

    1. Retirement is strange. I had no idea this would be what it’s like. By the same token, I didn’t expect to be disabled and retired at 57. Had I known this would happen, I would have taken better care of myself.

  2. LOL so true! Even though I am still working, I am transcribing things that happened days ago so my dates are all confused. Every morning when I wake up the first thing I think is “Today is…” That doesn’t mean I’ll remember it later but at least I start out with a head start! Happy Wednesday, John. Hows the teeth thing going?

    1. I go in for the extraction (and possibly the insertion of the implant) next Wednesday. I’m just going to take it one day at a time. I have hydrocodone if the pain gets unbearable, but I’m not thrilled with the idea of taking it. I’m hoping to get by with naproxen, which is preferable to pumping myself full of opioids.

Maybe you should get one of the old-fashioned calendars where you tear the page off to show the date. I could use one myself.

        1. As I was wakking down the street one day,
A man came up to me and asked me
What the time was that was on my watch…
          And I said…

Does anybody know what time it is?
          Does anybody really care?
          If so I can’t imagine why… etc.

          It’s been Chicago week this week… ๐Ÿ˜œ

  3. In my retirement the days all kind of run together sometimes. If not for my wife still working I’d likely lose track of it all if I stopped watching TV. Television kind of keeps me grounded in the days of the week.
