How Many Times Has This Happened To You? #JusJoJan

A joke from my brother Kip that I’m sure most of us can relate to…

An elderly couple is watching TV in their living room, and the woman says to the man, “Would you get me some ice cream?” He says “sure,” and gets up and starts toward the kitchen. “Maybe you better write it down,” she says, and he says “Come on, ice cream is easy enough to remember.” He’s gone for an hour, and when he comes back he’s carrying a tray with bacon, eggs, sausage, hash browns and pancakes. He sets it down in front of her, and she says “Darn it, I told you to write it down! You forgot the toast!”

Just Jot It January, or colloquially JusJoJan, is brought to you each January by Linda Hill. Today’s word, “memories,” was provided by Cage Dunn.

  1. My husband says to “join the journey” with forgetful elderly people. I hope that works when we get there. Or maybe it’s already working and I don’t remember.
