Don’t remember if I saw it here or not, but it’s an interesting perspective.

One-Liner Wednesday is brought to you each week by Linda Hill and this station. Now, here’s Bing Crosby for Pepsodent toothpaste. You’ll wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent!
In grad school I was showing a fellow student and friend around the library. I asked him why he looked so sad. He said, “It was my goal to get my masters without ever entering this building.” We all see success differently.

That’s like the guys that make a goal of never showing up for class except on exam days. I tried that once, it didn’t go well.

I did hang out at the Undergraduate Library a lot when I attended the University of Tennessee Knoxville. That Library was essentially smack dab in the middle of the campus.

I’ve never been on the campus proper at UT. The one time I worked with them I was working with the IT staff at the medical center. Their offices were in a converted motel, a clever solution to a pressing need. I’ve been to Knoxville a lot, though.

I’m not a fan of Shelby Foote, but man, that’s a great quote.

Puts it all in perspective, doesn’t it? To paraphrase Will from “Good Will Hunting,” you spend $150K for an education you could have gotten for $2 in late fees at the library…

It is good to put things into perspective.

If I had it to do it over again, I wouldn’t have gone to college, but would have spent my days going from one college library to another. I probably would have learned as much as I did.
