hedgehog
Next to cats and dogs, the next most popular animal on the Internet must be the hedgehog. Why? Because they’re adorable!
These were all taken from the Facebook page Hedgehog Memes. There are many, many more out there. Do you have a favorite?
I don’t think we have hedgehogs in Australia, but they do look cute and a lot softer than our echidnas.
Best wishes,
Rowena

I couldn’t help but think ‘poor hedgehogs’ when I saw the images you shared John. I prefer them wild and left to their natural selves with human kindness only in appropriate ways when they need support. Not knocking your post with my remark there, but I couldn’t pick a favourite from those shown.

Hedgehogs really do have the cuteness factor going on. I can’t help but go, “Awwwww!” I have a rubbery hedgehog on my desk that holds in its “spines” business cards, paper clips, and other small thin items. It’s not quite as cute as the real thing, but I don’t have to clean up after it.

Yesh, I’m not sure how messy they are in real life. They’re not real big, but I’ve learned, after many years with many cats, size doesn’t mean much there…

Hi John – they are a very endangered wildlife creature in the UK … as we’ve built barriers – i.e. garden walls which they can’t get through … so they are very threatened … and are not pets … but they are wonderful to see aren’t they – cheers Hilary

They are at that. Sorry to hear they’re endangered there.

I love the first one and the one with the tea cups. Hedgehogs were always popular in Germany and Austria because when I was 8, we went to Austria and I bought 2 hedgehog dolls, one boy and one girl dressed in Bavarian outfits. I gave the boy to my fr8end and kept the girl. There were always tons of pictures of hedgehogs having tea, hiking, picking flowers…hahahaaa. I never owned a hedgehog but I always loved what they looked like.

Like I said, adorable.

They do look cute. But I’ve always believed that their spines are sharp like the porcupines. Maybe the little ones have softer spines. Well, after a quick google search, seems like they are not injury-inducing sharp.
Nice set of memes. Loved the cabana one.

We have one in a hedge near our house. They make a lot of snorting noises, for being such tiny animals… 😀

Absolutely adorable – we don’t have them in India but I’ve seen them in Europe. I’ll check the Facebook page for a dose of cuteness.

While I’ve never actually met a hedgehog, they certain appear adorable. I’ve always thought of them more as garden creatures in England rather than household pets, but clearly I’m mistaken.

My oldest wanted one when he was in about 4th grade. Sonic the Hedgehog was a popular video game. They are definitely cute.

John,
Hedgehogs are adorable, especially when they’re little. The memes you shared are all equally adorable, too. Thanks for putting a smile on my face this evening after a very hectic day of doctor appointments.

Too cute. I actually saw and got to pet a couple of hedgehog babies at our local vet. The vet tech warned me to wash my hands before I left because they do carry diseases. 😦

The look really cute but they often carry fleas so not great if your dog decide to try and make friends with one!

Adorable. But I’ll stick with cats and dogs.

They’re a little too small for me. But they’re fun to look at.

Silly me, I’ve seen some of these and never really thought much of them. For cuteness, I prefer kittens, lol.

Same here. But these are pretty cute, too.

Are the spikes sharp? Cute but only if they belong to someone else.

I don’t think so, not like a porcupine. I remember them as being like one of those “soft-touch” hairbrushes.

Well this is adorable. If you asked me what a hedgehog was (five minutes ago), I wouldn’t have known. Now, I want to pet one!

Hedgehogs are strange little things. In the past I have taken in injured hoggs and cared for them (via the local vet) so I know first hand how fascinating they are. Plus, the cats don’t hunt them – I think the cats find them too slow and boring. Will have to check out that fb page of memes.
