#1LinerWeds from Leslie Charteris

A friend of mine posted this to Facebook the other day:

Simon Templar is, of course, The Saint, created by Leslie Charteris and portrayed most famously by Roger Moore in the 1960’s British television series and almost as famously by George Sanders in film (also by Vincent Price and, forgettably, by Val Kilmer). This TV reruns the series on Saturday nights, and we’ve taken to watching it after Columbo episodes on Cozi TV. WGN ran it almost concurrently with ITV in the ’60’s, but I never watched it then, so I’m making up for lost time.

Last Saturday, an episode aired where, at the end, a woman exclaims to Templar “you’re James Bond, aren’t you?” Moore, of course, portrayed 007 in the ’70’s, when he was a little long in the tooth for the role.

One-Liner Wednesday is brought to you each week by Linda Hill and this station. Now this from M&M’s candy. The milk chocolate melts in your mouth, not in your hand!

I much prefer the current M&M’s commercials, with J. K. Simmons voicing the peanut M&M.

  1. Except for the old ads where the M&M’s dove from the diving board into the candy for their coating, I’m not a fan of the anthropomorphic M&M’s. I think they’re kind of creepy, given that I’m going to eat them.
