  1. These are good songs and love that piggie song. Hmmm You Don’t Own Me but not sure who the original singer for that was. Changes by David Bowie and Weird Al cracks me up and the first that came to my mind was White and Nerdy

    1. The lovely Lesley Gore was the first person to sing “You Don’t Own Me,” of course… I think just about everyone else chose Bowie’s “Changes,” so I was determined not to (you know me). Weird Al has done a lot of funny stuff, but I’d likely go more for Allan Sherman.

  2. Super choices! Thin Lizzy is always great. I’d never heard the Cool Change song, but I really liked it! Can’t say I remember the Piggies song, either, but it’s pretty funny. πŸ™‚

    1. “Piggies” was from the white album (first record, side 2, 4th song, after “Blackbird”). Needless to say, I played the grooves off that album…

Little River Band did one of my all-time favorite songs, “Reminiscing,” but I found that I couldn’t remember anything else they did. So I bought their “best of” album, and realized I knew all the songs, just didn’t realize they had done them. DJ’s in the ’70’s weren’t real good about telling you what they were playing and who did it.
