A Comment From Apartment Therapy #1LinerWeds

Found this in an article about keeping your suitcase in the bathroom at a hotel so it won’t get infested with bedbugs…

One-Liner Wednesday is brought to you each week by Linda Hill and this station. Now this word from Eckrich franks. Eckrich means good meat from the heartland, and the secret ingredient is Mom!

That slogan makes me think of “Sweeney Todd.” Or “Motel Hell.”

  1. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and motels over the years. So far I’ve been fortunate not to have acquired any nasty bugs. Except once I found a dried up lizard in my brief case when we were staying in a Holiday Inn in San Antonio.

    1. They have a tendency to get themselves into a lot of places. One day, we saw the cats playing with one that had gotten in the house somehow. Fortunately, Mary caught the little guy and let him loose outside before they could inflict any major damage on him. She said after that, the kitties were all looking at her like “Hey! We was playin’ wif dat!”

  2. Bed bugs & superpowers in one comment. Not a combo I’d expect to see. Suitcase in bathroom in a hotel room? Where would you put it? On the floor and step over it all the time?

    1. They suggest leaving it in the bathtub. You’d only have to take it out when you used the tub/shower. And yes, I’ve stayed in some hotels where there’s barely enough room for the tub and toilet. Even then, there’s usually enough room, provided you don’t travel like a celebrity.
