Well, the holidays are over, and now we’re in the midst of winter. It’s right around this time that the winter blahs set in, so I decided to create an acrostic playlist on "winter blahs."
Here’s a list of the songs in this list:
- "What’s New, Pussycat?" – Tom Jones
- "I Can Help" – Billy Swan
- "Never Can Say Goodbye" – The Jackson 5
- "Take Good Care Of My Baby" – Bobby Vee
- "Elenore" – The Turtles
- "Rhapsody In The Rain" – Lou Christie
- "Baby What You Want Me To Do" – Jimmy Reed
- "Let It Be" – The Beatles
- "Am I The Same Girl" – Swing Out Sister
- "Hi-De-Ho" – Blood Sweat & Tears
- "Secret Agent Man" – Johnny Rivers
What songs would you use? That’s Monday’s Music Moves Me for January 13, 2020.
Monday’s Music Moves Me is sponsored by X-Mas Dolly, Callie, Cathy, Alana, and Stacy, so be sure and visit them, where you can also find the Linky for the other participants.
Those are excellent song choices to combat the winter blahs, John! Nicely done! 😉 Hope you’re having a great weekend!

I’m too winter-blah to write an acrostic. And I learned something – I had no idea Lou Christie’s Rhapsody in the Rain had been banned on certain stations for its lyrics (I guess I only heard the censored version many stations played). The original lyrics made it clear why there was a rhapsody in the rain…oh, those innocent days….

Remember the story about Them’s “Gloria”? There was one line (“then she comes to my room”) that got it banned. The Shadows of Knight changed it, and it became the hit. Or the whole brouhaha about “Louie Louie” and what the FBI thought they were singing. They went a little overboard in the ’60’s…

Hi John – bearing in mind my birthday was yesterday … I’m very happy to have Tom Jones asking me what’s new Pussycat! Cheers – great range of music, thank you – cheers Hilary

You love words and unique sentences and so forth. I always have to think…that hurts my head. I thought of that song Fred sings to Ginger while it snows, “A Fine Romance.”

Trust me, it isn’t as easy as it looks…

Having probs leaving comments. Seems like all my passwords got lost. 😦 Love your tunes.. Bobby Vee was a favorite of mine for a long time. So did you like Angelina Jordan’s appearance on AGT Champions? I thought it was awesome… she did a great job with the Queen song.

I don’t watch AGT, so I didn’t see her. Maybe they’ll post it on YouTube. She just turned 14…
You need a password manager, like LastPass. I keep all my passwords there, and all my credit card info and everything, and it’s all safe and sound.

Great choices, especially #’s 1 and 11. Thank you for the kind words you left for me on the passing of Prancie.

I can tell she was special, and I seem to remember you lost another one not long ago. That’s tough when that happens. Glad you liked the songs!

John,
Now that’s a good idea ‘WINTER BLUES’. I might have to borrow this theme next winter because right now I can’t figure out time to squeeze it in. 🙂 Your mewsic selections helps to fight the winter blues, though. Thanks for joining the 4M gang on the dance floor, my friend. Have a boogietastic week.

Clever acrostic. I’ve been singing the Tom Jones song to my cat. She loves it.

We’ve sung it to various members of our clowder over the years. Haven’t sung it to the last remaining member, though…

I have a compilation album from years back – found it on a UK site (https://www.discogs.com/Various-Rhythm-Of-The-Sun/release/5832589). Another group which also said “summer” to me are The Beach Boys.
