I had considered doing this last Saturday, but decided to go with "Red Red Wine" instead. "Red Sails In The Sunset" was written in 1935 by Hugh Williams and Jimmy Kennedy, and has become a standard, with no fewer than 50 recorded versions available. The Beatles even did it in Hamburg, which can be heard on the first Anthology album. Connie Francis recorded it for her 1968 album Hawaii Connie.

I had never heard another version of this but the Beatles version off of the Star Club album of the seventies.

I think I heard The Beatles do it on the first Anthology set, but it’s an old standard

I donโt know this song at all. She has such a unique voice, you know it is Connie Francis as soon as you hear her sing.

This is a song that everyone has done and no one has actually heard, I’m convinced.
