BATTLE OF THE BANDS: "You Talk Too Much"

I found us a couple of rockers called "You Talk Too Much" for this round of Battle of the Bands. Let’s meet the contestants and hear what they have to offer.

George Thorogood

From George’s 1988 album Born To Be Bad.

Cheap Trick

From Cheap Trick’s 1983 album Next Position Please.

Just a reminder of what to do now:

  1. Listen to the two songs.
  2. Decide which song you like the best.
  3. Vote for your favorite by leaving me a comment with your choice. If you feel like telling us why, feel free.
  4. Then, visit the other participants and vote in their Battles:

I’ll tally the votes and announce the winner next Saturday, February 22, so be sure and get your vote in by then. The lines are now open. Good luck to George Thorogood and Cheap Trick!

  1. Definitely George Thorogood! Had a better, “hard rock” vibe. I’ve never been a fan of Cheap Trick. P.S. the first video doesn’t work in Canada. Here’s an alternate, in case anyone had the same issue:

  2. John,

Both songs are new-to-me. I think I like GEORGE THOROGOOD in this battle. Thanks for stopping by over the weekend to cast your vote in my <a href=”https://curiousasacathy.com/2020/02/heart-soul-botb-showdown/>Heart and Soul #BoTB Showdown, my friend. Have a good week!!

      1. It’s kind of sporadically weird. Sometimes the comments go right through while other times I get asked to sign on to WordPress and I’ve not been able to do it. Then I leave a comment that goes through. But I’ve been seeing a lot of weird things going on of late.

          1. Not just WordPress–I’ve been encountering weird Blogger things too. But my computer’s been acting strange of late as well so maybe that’s part of it.

  3. Oh, GEORGE THOROGOOD over Cheap Trick every single day of the week and twice on Sundays!!

When I was a teenager, I really tried – TRIED – to like Cheap Trick. I even bought a second one of their albums, when I wasn’t real crazy about the first one I’d purchased, thinking that since everyone seemed to dig them so much, I just must not have been getting it. So, I tried again. Same result. I had to almost consciously yak myself into putting their albums on the turntable.

Finally, I said, “OK, they’re just not for me. Now I gotta get that Thin Lizzy album back that I loaned to Eric a couple weeks ago!!”

Incidentally, although I no longer usually do BOTB installments on the 15th of each month, I made an exception this time because today is the birthday of one of my all-time best friends, who was killed by a car thief in 1989. So, I decided to put together a Battle that relates to him in a couple of ways, in honor of his birth.
