Share Your World for February 17, 2020

Time once again for Share Your World! Melanie has all the rules at her place, if you’d like to play along. Here are this week’s questions.

How can someone win a gold star (i.e. win your approval and/or admiration) with you? I’m not in the habit of handing out "gold stars." I appreciate what people do for me, whatever it is. (And that’s my gratitude thing.)

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time? Sleep. Seriously, just because I don’t have to do something doesn’t mean I don’t want to.

Do you have a favorite type of exercise? I used to love to walk, until a stroke and two bad knees screwed that up.

Do you sleep with a top sheet? Why or why not? Yes. Don’t know why, I just always have.

All for now. See you in the funny papers!

  1. Thank you John for Sharing Your World! I used to use a top sheet (how I was raised to do) but at some point I stopped. I don’t like any covers at all come to that, but this past winter saw me seeking a light weight throw to use because it got quite chilly. I guess I’m getting a bit old now. The sleep question has garnered a lot of diverse answers, but the most popular kind is yours. A LOT of people would use the time to sleep, even if they didn’t ‘have’ to. Lotta tired people in the world apparently! 🙂

    1. There are nights when I get very warm, and frequently I’ll sleep on top of the covers to cool off. I wake up and feel cold, so I get under the covers, which have now been warmed up by my body heat, and for some reason it feels especially good and I can get to sleep. Sounds strange, but it works.

I have some very entertaining dreams. My brain concocts some interesting worlds, and even if I don’t remember the dream itself I tend to remember the setting.

  2. Some great questions here and that first one is a tough one. For me, it would take a long while but I think if they stood by their beliefs/convictions even if it meant they would be met with scorn or ridicule. For sleep, since I am falling asleep while trying to read blog posts, I think I would need sleep. I don’t know why I get sooo tired that I just drop off but it could be the pain and/or the chronic Fatigue that I have. I can see that I would make more cards, watch more movies, clean more…clean, if my body lets me. Exercise?? Hahaaa….I’m with you about walking. I do sleep with a top sheet because it feels cool against my body and it protects the main blanket if I get too hot.

    1. I think it’s just more comfortable with a top sheet. Oddly, though, the folks at the Apartment Therapy site (which I read, not because I live in an apartment, but because some of the stuff is interesting) seem to think that people are doing without the top sheet.
