I never quite had it like this because Mary was home, but I could go days without talking to anyone from work.

One-Liner Wednesday is brought to you each week by Linda Hill and this station. Now here’s a word about Glo-Coat floor wax. Shields against black heel marks!
I might have used this before, but I love those flying heels.
Lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I talked to people all day long on the phone. Glad that’s over with. And meetings a waste of time – blah blah blah

Do you remember the Airtran commercial where they had a guy fly in to participate in a meeting about what to put in the snack machine?

This made me laugh with understanding. Of course, after a while, I will talk to myself, or the dog, but disagreements are rare.

Sure, if Mary wasn’t home I’d talk to the cats when they’d wander into the office.

All I do is talk at work. Meetings upon meetings. Blah blah blah. 😆

I always hated meetings. You spend your whole time telling people what you’re going to do instead of doing it…

Most of the time, having users telecommute was also good for the IT staff. In that case, CallerID was a godsend.

I am a loner when I work. It can get too ‘peopley’ for me.
Last week I was searching for a commercial I could not find. Joey said “ask John” so here goes. Do you remember, “I knew you were coming so I baked a Bundt”? Might have been a Pillsbury commercial. Even in the vast Google land I only found one or two people that even remember it. I was thinking it might have been a copyright infringement on the original song. so it was purged.

Yes, I do. It was for Pillsbury, I’m thinking late ’70’s-early ’80’s. It might be on one of the commercial “reels” out on YouTube (with names like “vintage 70’s commercials”) or on one of the “commercial breaks” videos that the user Channel 37 (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTaiPSt-z1V6Mqudf8te7Ag) puts out. There are others who create those, but he does the better ones. I’ll keep an eye out for it.
In my last job, I went from being a trainer to being technical support for training (who sometimes did training). They had a joke that I was like Vulcan at the forge. After the stroke, I realized I was more like Hephaestus (the Greek equivalent), who was lame and walked with a stick. Anyway, they’d email me when they needed something, and I’d go for several weeks without talking to them, which suited me fine….

You paint a great picture, John. This will forever be my mental image of you. 😀
I will check out some of the YouTube reels. I am glad I am not losing all my marbles!
