It’s Motown vs. Music City today in today’s Battle of the Bands (and yes, I checked, and I haven’t done this before), as we have challengers from both cities singing their song called "Easy Come, Easy Go." There are a bunch of songs called "Easy Come, Easy Go," and I might do this song title again with two different artists in the future. Maybe even run a tournament… We’ll talk about that later. Here are your challenges for today:
One of their lesser-known singles, from their 1977 album Spinners/8. It only reached #46 on the R&B chart.
Title track from George’s 1993 album, this went to #1 on the US and Canadian Country charts, but only reached #71 on the Hot 100.
Let’s review the instructions for those of you who might be doing this for the first time (remember, all are welcome to cast a vote) or who might have forgotten them in two weeks (hey, it happens):
- Listen to the two songs.
- Decide which song you like the best.
- Vote for your favorite by leaving me a comment with your choice. If you feel like telling us why, feel free.
- Then, visit the other participants and vote in their Battles:
I’ll tally the votes and announce the winner next Sunday, March 22, so be sure and cast your vote before then.
The lines are now open. Good luck to The Spinners and George Strait!
