The First Edition’s last Top 20 hit on the Hot 100 (#17), "Tell It All Brother" borders almost on spiritual music. It came out on the heels of "Something’s Burning" and didn’t do badly on the Adult Contemporary chart (#8) or in Canada (#10). This performance is from The Dean Martin Show, and Dean seems rather impressed with them.

I never heard this one before….I can see Kenny becoming older Kenny in this one.

It wasn’t one of their better-known songs, but a good one nonetheless.

I’ve enjoyed all of these…I’m going to listen to some…I know his later stuff but I appreciate you bringing this stuff out instead of The Gambler…which is great….but we knew that one.

His work with The First Edition was excellent. Of all the music he did, that might be my favorite.

Forgot this one until I heard it. They all look so young.

They were… Kenny was 31 if it was done 50 years ago.

Hi John – lovely ‘quiet’ song for today … that was delightful to listen – and yes Dean does seem rather impressed – cheers and all the best – Hilary

Dean was a good judge of talent. If he was impressed, chances are plenty of others would be, too.
