This edition of The Week That Was is brought to you by Softique beauty bath oil. You deserve it!
The Blogging from A to Z April Challenge starts this Wednesday. There’s still time to sign up here. It’ll be open until Saturday. If you’ve never heard of the challenge and want to know what it’s all about, this will explain everything. If you still have questions, feel free to ask.
I hope everyone is surviving the current pandemic, and I hope for all of our sakes that the period of isolation is a brief one. It’ll give us all a chance to visit other bloggers and do the things we always said we were going to do when we had some downtime.
Here’s the summary for the week.
- (Song Lyric) Sunday: Dionne Warwick, "Promises, Promises"
- Monday: Woodsongs, "How High The Moon"
- Tuesday: Ksenia Buzina, "All The Difference In The World"
- Wednesday: The Beatles, "When I’m 64"
- Thursday: Kenny Rogers & The First Edition, "Something’s Burning"
- Friday: Kenny Rogers & The First Edition, "Reuben James"
- Saturday: Kenny Rogers & The First Edition, "Tell It All Brother"

Built a playlist of songs that YouTube put on my Home page. That worked surprisingly well. I have to remember that for next time.
Answered questions such as how strict my parents were, on a scale of 1 to 10; what wastes the most time in my day; whether people are buried with their orthodontia; and why a round pizza comes in a square box.
This week’s encore presentation featured the Dave Brubeck Quartet in an article I wrote after Brubeck’s death in 2013.
My one-liner dealt with my apparent inability to sit down with a book and read it. Most of my reading is blog posts from my friends (that’s you) and technical books.
Kat’s question was how well we’re doing with all the quarantining that’s been going on because of Covid-19. In case you’re interested, we spend so much time at home, anyway, it’s really not that big of a change.
We visited WPTR in Albany, New York and reconstructed their Top 10 from 1958.
The assignment waws to look at the first thing beside us and use it as the basis for the post, so I wrote a product review for my scanner. Exciting, huh?
Monday on M⁴, we’ll be doing songs about walking. Everything else will be about the same, plus the A to Z Challenge will be starting on Wednesday.

Yay for A to Z. I’ve forgotten how to ping back with Google. Maybe the linky link is all that’s needed? Still no theme. I’m hopeless this year.

We don’t ping back or anything; it caused too much confusion. So we decided to create the master list, which has links to everyone’s blog, and you choose who you visit off that. If the person isn’t doing the challenge or has given up, well, that’s life.

A to Z almost here and I’m barely ready for it. That’s the way things have been going for me for a few years now. Oh well, I basically winged it the first year I did it so why not wing it again.

Sounds good to me. I might do that next year.
I’m working on the questions for my “interview” of you. I’ll get them to you tomorrow.

Hi John – thanks for entertaining us … long may it last … one day I’ll spend time here exploring … perhaps in a few weeks – looks like we’re in for the long haul. Good luck with the A-Z … I’m going to bow out – I’ve lots I must do and now we’re in lock down gives me time to settle in and get on with ‘my lots’ … but I’ll be around for the A-Z – take care and all the best – cheers Hilary
