“Help me” has become the theme for this week, so here’s another. This was originally recorded as “Help Me, Ronda” and issued on the Beach Boys’ 1965 album The Beach Boys Today! The intent was to leave it as an album cut, but radio stations started playing it, inspiring Brian Wilson to rearrange it slightly and issue it as a single. The single reached #1 on the Hot 100 in the US and Canada. The single version was then included on the mid-1965 album Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!).

Great song! One of my favorites from them… and it doesn’t even mention the beach, lol

They had a few that didn’t mention the beach. “In My Room” was one of them. I like that one, too…

My college roommate was a girl named Rhonda. I always think of her when I hear the song.

I worked with a woman named Rhonda, so I know what you’re saying.

Now there is another Help song and a great name that is not common in songs. One day, maybe there will be a song with my name in it. That is about as much chance as me winning the lottery
