“Joint” is used for so many different things, I don’t even know where to start. I won’t talk about its ties to cannabis, nor will I discuss its apparent meaning as part of male genitalia (there was only one person I knew that used it that context) nor of shoulders, elbows, knees, hips, ankles etc. And there’s still plenty to talk about…
I like the picture above. It looks like pipes, or monkey bars, at lest the ones we played on as kids. Where you connect two pipes is a joint. There are all kinds of joints in woodworking, but I’ll let Dan explain them, because he knows a whole lot about them and I don’t.
A joint can also be where two things connect, as in a PERT chart. I talked about them last February, and just like then, I’m going to spare you the description. I’ve linked articles there that explain critical paths and PERT charts, so if you want, you can read them there.
And just like that, time’s up…
Stream of Consciousness Saturday is brought to you each week by Linda Hill and this station. Now a word about the Zenith 9-band Transoceanic radio. At Zenith, the quality goes in before the name goes on!
You might recognize the voice of William Conrad…
You dodged the quicksand I couldn’t avoid. Nicely done, John.

Amazing that you can discount so many meanings of the word and still come up with an informative post. Thanks again for the 2020 vision nod! You’re the best.

I always think of Joint as some place one goes to for a Beer or something to eat.

I’ve been to a few of those.

I don’t want to talk about body joints either, John, although I think hanging from monkey bar joints might help stretch the former.
