Session player extraordinaire Larry Carlton has been on albums with Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, and others, and for a period of time was the guitarist for the band Fourplay. “Bubble Shuffle” is from his 1989 album On Solid Ground.

He plays a lot on Steely Dan albums. He did a lot of the guitar work on Aja, particularly “Deacon Blues” and “Josie.” His Wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Carlton#As_sideman) lists all the other artists he’s worked with.

He is. He’s a very versatile player, switching easily between hard rock, soft rock, smooth jazz, straight-ahead jazz, Latin, whatever they ask for.
