Song of the Day: Santana, “Incident at Neshabur”

My favorite Santana album has to be 1970’s Abraxas, maybe because I listened to it so much as a teen. The title came from Hermann Hesse’s book Demian. as was the title for this song. One of the comments mentions that Miles Davis said this is the greatest rock song ever written. This is a live version, recorded at Tanglewood in August 1970, with the original band members: Carlos Santana (guitar), Gregg Rolie (keyboards), Mike Carabello (congas), Jose “Chepito” Areas (timbales), Dave Brown (bass), and Mike Shrieve (drums).
