Benny Mardones had two Top 20 hits, I think qualifies as a “one-hit wonder” because both hits were “Into The Night.” In 1980, the song reached #11 on the Hot 100 and #12 in Canada; then, in 1989, the song reached #20 on both the Hot 100 and the Adult Contemporary chart.

    1. They get whatever residuals they negotiated when they signed with the record company. This now includes downloads and streams on platforms like YouTube and Spotify. It’s not much, but it’s something.

  3. I love this song, but it’s so sad. I do wonder why it re-charted in 1989? I don’t remember hearing it all that much around that time.
