Song of the Day: Antoine Dufour, “Reality”

A lot of the fingerstyle players I’ve been looking at over the last couple of days record for an independent record label, Menominee Falls, Wisconsin-based CandyRat Records. Don Ross (from yesterday) is one of their original artists, as is the subject of today’s Song of the Day, Antoine Dufour. A French Canadian from L’Épiphanie, Quebec, Antoine took up the guitar at 15 and learned from listening to Leo Kottke, Don Ross, and Michael Hedges at the recommendation of his teacher at CEGEP in Joliette, PQ. (Thank you, Wikipedia.) He currently has six solo albums and a seventh where he’s joined by multi-instrumentalist Tommy Gauthier. This is from his 2008 album, Existence.
