BATTLE OF THE BANDS: “Bluer Than Blue” Results

My last battle featured three different songs all named “Bluer Than Blue,” by yacht rocker Michael Johnson, soul duet Peaches & Herb, and jazz band leader and singer Lil Hardin Armstrong. I’ve tallied the votes, and we have a two-way tie.

Michael Johnson: 2

Peaches & Herb: 4

Lil Hardin Armstrong: 4

Congratulations to both Peaches & Herb and Lil Hardin Armstrong, and a “sorry about that” to Michael Johnson. That happens sometimes with three contestants.

Our next Battle of the Bands will be next Wednesday, July 1. See you then!

  1. Wow! Kind of a surprising outcome, seeing as how Michael Johnson’s recording was the one really big hit of the three contenders.

Hmmm…. Usually, that “Familiarity Factor” all but guarantees a victory for the Top 40 hit, but not this time. Well, as they all say:

    “WHEN IT COMES TO BOTB,
    NO ONE CAN BE SURE-A-NUTTIN’!”

At least, that’s what I’ve heard that “they” all say.

  2. That was a balanced outcome at least. Too bad there weren’t more votes to see if there could have been a more definitive outcome, but then 2 more votes could have potentially resulted in a 3 way tie. Hmm–that might have been kind of cool though.
