Classics IV, later referred to as Dennis Yost and Classics IV, were a soft Southern rock band out of Jacksonville, Florida, known for such hits as “Spooky,” “Stormy,” “Traces,” and “Every Day With You, Girl.” They released five and a half albums (they shared credit with The Mamas & The Papas on the half) between 1968 and 1973. This is from their 1968 debut album Spooky.

Thanks John – I hadn’t heard of the group … but enjoyed this take … as Willowdot says: distinctive. Stay safe – Hilary

I’ve always liked their sound and I didn’t even know who they were. Thanks for filling me in.

Really? They were really big in the late ’60’s, in Chicago, anyway. Depending on where you lived they might not have been that big a deal.

I never heard of this song but I like it. Itβs gritty and blues inspired to me

They were generally a soft rock band, but they could put in gear when they wanted to.

That was a good one. All their hits were good, and so were a few of the album cuts.

They were a good band. Before he died, Dennis Yost (lead singer) made a lot of appearances at oldies concerts.
