Song of the Day: B. W. Stevenson, “My Maria”

I think someone posted the Brooks & Dunn cover of this, but I like the original by B. W. Stevenson. He was born in Dallas and went to W. H. Adamson High School with Michael Martin Murphey (“Wildfire”), Ray Wylie Hubbard (wrote “Up Against The Wall, Redneck Mother” for Jerry Jeff Walker), and Larry Groce (“Junk Food Junkie”). “My Maria” was co-written with Daniel Moore and was the title track for his 1973 album, and it reached #9 on the Hot 100 that year.
