“One On One” was written by Daryl Hall and appeared on H&O’s eleventh album, 1982’s H2O. It was a return to a more “blue-eyed soul” sound, sounding much like their earlier hits. It was released in January 1983 and peaked at #7 on the Hot 100, #4 on the Adult Contemporary chart, and #8 on the R&B chart in the US, as well as #4 on the Pop chart and #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart in Canada.

I’m surprised. It was all over the radio in Chicago. Might not have been where you are.

No but…”Maneater” and “I Can’t Go For That” certainly was… It might just be me but I listened to the radio a lot around that time.

I didn’t remember this song until I heard it. Nice one. Wish I had his hair!
