Song of the Day: Marvin Gaye & Kim Weston, “It Takes Two” #rmf

Picked this one totally at random. "It Takes Two" was written by William "Mickey" Stevenson, Marvin Gaye’s producer and Kim Weston’s then-husband, and Sylvia Moy. Released in late 1966, this was to be Marvin’s highest-rated duet single until his years with Tammi Terrell. It peaked at #14 on the Hot 100 and #4 on the Soul Singles chart, and at #16 in the UK, all in 1967.

  1. Excellent song… I heard this all through the 80s from an oldies station I listened to. I listened to that station more than the current at the time.
