Here we have two songs named "More" as sung by two TV crooners. Work with me here, okay?

Perry Como

From 1956, a song that reached #4 in the US and #10 in the UK.

Andy Williams

The theme from the 1962 Italian film Mondo Cane, which sounds like a pretty terrible movie. Great song, though.

You know what to do now:

  1. Listen to the two songs.
  2. Decide which song you like the best.
  3. Vote for your favorite by leaving me a comment with your choice. If you feel like telling us why, feel free.
  4. Then, visit the other participants and vote in their Battles:

I’ll tally the votes and announce the winner next Thursday, October 22, so be sure and get your vote to me by then.

The lines are now open. Good luck to Perry and Andy!

  1. I had to go to Youtube to see The Andy Williams version but I do give that one my vote. I know that song and have to admit, I love it.

  2. I vote for Andy Williams. Simply sounds better to me. Perry’s version sounds a little dull. Andy Williams and Perry Como; boy, where has the time gone!

  3. I’ll have to admit that I liked the film Mondo Cane but I’m weird like that. And I like documentaries about strange things around the world.

Never heard the Como song and I’m not impressed. Definitely Andy Williams gets my vote for a song that I used to like a great deal when I was a kid and it still sounds good to me.

  4. I guess I’ll go with the only artist that will play for me Perry Como.I got a battle of the bands comming on line in about 5 minuites.!!

I definitely gotta vote more for Andy Williams’ ‘MORE’ and less for Perry Como’s ‘More’.

I have always liked A.W. and that particular song is kind of special to me. I will say, however, that my favorite version of that ‘MORE’ is done by Bobby Darin. I’d take Darin over Williams on this song, but I’ll take Williams over Como on probably just about any song.
