BATTLE OF THE BANDS: “Accidents Will Happen”

In this battle, we’ll be choosing between two songs named "Accidents Will Happen," neither of which was done by Elvis Costello.

CONTESTANT #1: PATSY ANN NOBLE

Patsy Ann Noble started her musical career in the early ’60’s in her native Australia, and moved to England in 1963. She started her television acting career in 1965, and by 1967 had changed her stage name to Trisha Noble to distance herself from her career as a teen singer.

CONTESTANT #2: THE VON BONDIES

The Von Bondies were an American alternative rock band that existed between 1997 and 2011.

So, those are the contestants. Here are your instructions:

  1. Listen to the two songs.
  2. Decide which song you like the best.
  3. Vote for your favorite by leaving me a comment with your choice. If you feel like telling us why, feel free.
  4. Then, visit the other participants and vote in their Battles:

I’ll tally the votes and announce the winner next Sunday, November 23, so be sure and cast your vote by then.

The lines are now open. Good luck to Patsy Ann Noble and The Von Bondies!

  1. JOHN ~

I found the tonal quality of Patsy’s voice to be a bit annoying, so I’ll cast my BOTB bote for the livelier VON BONDIES.

  2. For some reason, Patsy’s perky rendition of this song didn’t do much for me. She could have sung another song and it would have sounded the same. The second one is more original even though I wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to it again but it is more original so they get my vote.

  3. Patsy initially got on my nerves, but then as I became acclimated to her style she started sounding better to me. The Van Bondies were okay, but nothing exceptional for me.

Give my vote to the sixties stylings of Patsy Ann Noble.
