
Happy heavenly birthday to singer/songwriter/guitarist J. J. Cale, who would be 82 today. "Call Me The Breeze" has been covered a number of times, most notably by Lynyrd Skynyrd on their 1974 album Second Helping. J. J.’s appeared on his 1972 début album Naturally.
I got introduced to this song by Lynyrd Skynyrd (I HATE trying to spell that name) but later I heard his version and I love it.

Sounds a lot different when JJ does it. That’s like “After Midnight”: Clapton made it a real raver, JJ made it slow and bluesy. JJ was a good influence on Clapton…
