Song of the Day: Jimmy Buffett, “Mele Kalikimaka”

Happy 74th birthday to Jimmy Buffett! "Mele Kalikimaka" was written in 1949 by R. Alex Anderson and was recorded first by Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters. It appears on Jimmy’s 1996 Christmas album, Christmas Island.

  1. It’s hard not to like Buffet. I’ve seen him a couple of times. It’s like going to a giant beach party.

      1. I’m not a Parrot head lol…. same here and I enjoyed him live a lot. I like his hits and also one in particular… “Door Number 3” a spoof on Let’s Make a Deal.

  2. Love Jimmy Buffett! Back in the day, I was in Key West for their Octoberfest, which is quite an ordeal for them (similar to Mardi Gras). They have a costume extravaganza like you’ve never seen. Some costumes take years to make. Anyway, my hubby at that time dressed as Merlin, and I was dressed as a sorceress. We were in a parade and Jimmy Buffet was the Grand Marshall.
