Song of the Day: Hugo Montenegro, “The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly”

Today would be actor Lee Van Cleef’s 95th birthday. Star of movies and TV, he appeared in several of Sergio Leone’s "Spaghetti Westerns," including The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly in 1966 with Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach. Ennio Morricone composed the music for the film, and the theme was a #2 hit for Hugo Montenegro in 1968.

  2. I loved spaghetti westerns when I was a kid (including this one). Haven’t watched one in a while, but now you’ve made me think I should (I also loved Terence Hill and Bud Spencer westerns – not sure if they classify as spaghetti westerns).

    1. I think there has to be some connection with Italy to be considered a “spaghetti” western. I know there are also paella westerns that were filmed in Spain. But I’m not fussy….
