BATTLE OF THE BANDS: “The Coffee Song”

I’m back with another Battle of the Bands. Still working with the "two songs with the same name" theme, here are two songs called "The Coffee Song."

Contestant 1: Frank Sinatra: From his album Ring A Ding Ding, a song by Bob Hilliard and Richard Miles.

Contestant 2: The Arrogant Worms: Never heard of these guys before today. Wikipedia tells us "The Arrogant Worms are a Canadian musical comedy trio that parody many musical genres." Haven’t been able to find what album this is from.

Those are our contestants. Here’s what you do:

  1. Listen to the two songs.
  2. Decide which song you like the best.
  3. Vote for your favorite by leaving me a comment with your choice. If you feel like telling us why, feel free.
  4. Then, visit the other participants and vote in their Battles:

I’ll tally the votes and announce the winner next Friday, January 22, so be sure and have your vote to me by Thursday night.

The lines are now open. Good luck to Frank Sinatra and The Arrogant Worms!

  1. I did not care for either of them, but I will go with Frank Sinatra. I couldn’t help thinking of this song and now it will be in rotation in the jukebox in my head.

  2. JOHN ~

The Arrogant Worms didn’t do much for me. Nor for my Brother, either.

Chalk up two (count ’em: 2) BOTB botes for Frank S.

  3. Hey John,

I could handle a cup of coffee about now but I guess I will wait until a later to make some. In this round I’m going with Frank Sinatra. His song was a real picker upper. 🙂 Great battle, my friend.

Please join me in my mid-round BoTB when you can!

  4. Ha! The Arrogant Worms sure are well-known around these parts. ☺ The Coffee Song is from their album Toast, released in 2004. It’s a fun little ditty, but for listening pleasure, I prefer Frank Sinatra.

  5. Well, I have to go with the Canadians because I love parodies and it made me laugh because it is so true…just a basic cup of coffee. I like Frank to a degree but he is not my favourite. Now, I rarely have coffee so I never have this need for this drink.
