Song of the Day: Ethel Merman, “There’s No Business Like Show Business”

Star of stage and screen, Ethel Merman was born 133 years ago today. Her signature song is Irving Berlin’s "There’s No Business Like Show Business," written for the 1946 musical Annie Get Your Gun. She also sang it in the 1954 film of the same name.

    1. I saw “Annie Get Your Gun” back when my brother was in it at Sunset Ridge (so that’s 50 years ago) and don’t remember that part, either. It might have been added for “There’s No Business Like Show Business.”

    1. My maternal grandmother, Walkie, didn’t like her, because Ethel had a tendency to sing a little bit faster than the orchestra was playing. But I don’t mind.
