Been so busy today I almost let this slip! Anyway, this is Mary B’s challenge, where she gives three types of songs and we have to go out looking for them. So let’s get started…
A Color: Little Walter, "Blue And Lonesome"
A Girl’s Name: The Four Tops, "Bernadette"
A Boy’s Name: The Marvelettes, "Don’t Mess With Bill"
And that’s the Weekly Song Challenge for January 20, 2021.
Excellent selection, John!

These are great choices and never heard of the last one. Hmmm…The Blue Danube done by either Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops or André Rieu. A girl’s name..Lucy in the Sky in Diamonds by the Beatles. The first song that hoped into my silly little head was Bill from Showboat. A very sad song and covered by many.

I’m a huge Little Walter fan. Learned to play harmonica by listening to his records. Not that I can play anymore….

It makes me laugh when I hear someone commenting on Dylan or Neil Young playing harmonica… I direct them to Little Walter.

What I learned is that if you want to play an instrument like someone, listen to the guys they listened to.
