
Composer and pianist Horst Jankowski, who studied at the Berlin Music Conservatory, would be 85 today. In 1965, he wrote and recorded "A Walk In The Black Forest," which topped the Easy Listening chart as well as reaching #12 on the Hot 100 and #3 on the UK Singles chart.
I have been to the Black Forest and this tune was in my head on and off all the time I was there!

If you want to be technically correct, it’s “Eine Schwarzwaldfahrt,” which is German for “A Walk In The Black Forest.”
