As has been the case with my BotB’s for the last several months, here are two songs named "Real Love." I’ve chosen songs by two R&B chanteuses for this battle, to see if I can get a result that isn’t a blowout. Here are your choices.

Mary J. Blige From her 1992 album What’s The 411?.

Jody Watley The extended single from 1989.

So there are our contestants. Here are your instructions:

  1. Listen to the two songs.
  2. Decide which song you like the best.
  3. Vote for your favorite by leaving me a comment with your choice. If you feel like telling us why, feel free.
  4. Then, visit the other participants and vote in their Battles:

I’ll announce the winner next Monday, February 8, so get your vote to me by then.

The lines are now open. Good luck to Mary and Jody!

  1. If the song is ‘REAL LOVE’, then my vote goes to The Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald! Nuttin’ to think about.

Oh, wait! I can’t bote for The Doobies? No, of course not. Because you didn’t want a shutout. (Smart man.)

I would have to call this a “A Diet BOTB Battle” – two songs with zero sugar, zero fat, zero calories, zero carbohydrates, and zero substance. I’m reminded of Green Acres and Lisa Douglas’ “Hot Water Soup”.

Well, if I’m required to vote, then I’ll vote for MARY, because Jody’s eyebrows scared me! They looked like two of Larry Csonka’s mustaches looming over her orbs.

    1. P.S.; Did you do a BotB with “Real Love” by the Beatles? That is what songs come to mind when “Real Love” is mentioned?
