Song of the Day: Lee Marvin, “Wand’rin’ Star”

Actor Lee Marvin was born on this day 97 years ago. He starred in the 1969 movie adaptation of Lerner and Loewe’s Paint Your Wagon with Clint Eastwood. Though not a singer, his rendition of "Wand’rin’ Star" from the movie went to #1 in the UK and Ireland and peaked at #10 in Australia.

    1. His strong suit was military pictures. My favorite was “Hell In The Pacific,” where he and a Japanese soldier end up on a desert island during WWII and end up friends for a while…

  1. I need to see this film again because I was not enamoured with it when I saw it many years ago. I always shake my head a bit thinking of Lee Marvin and singing because they just don’t seem to go together. Mind you he is hitting the notes and the song is nice.
