I had already done a One-Liner Wednesday post, but I was reading Scott Adams’s book How To Fail At Everything And Still Come Out On Top: Kind Of The Story Of My Life, saw this line, and said "you know, I should use that on One-Liner Wednesday." Then, Birgit made a comment to which this was a perfect response. Thanks, Birgit!

One-Liner Wednesday is brought to you by Linda Hill and this station. Now a word about Chiffon Margarine. If you think it’s butter, but it’s not, it’s Chiffon!
Hey, thanks for the shout out and glad I “inspired” you. Love the quote!

Love and agree with your one-liner. The Mother Nature commercial? Classic!

Those Mother Nature commercials were definitely classics. I’m not able to find the records of the Clio Awards (for advertising) from the ’70’s, but I bet they won a couple.

Where’s the beef? is right beside them. 🤣

What I always thought was funny was, after Clara Peller said “Where’s the beef?” a few times, she’d turn to her friends and say “I don’t think there’s anybody back there.” I read somewhere that the guy who wrote the first of those commercials thought the funny line was “it’s a big fluffy bun.” Little did he know…

Ain’t it, though? He’s a funny guy. I’ve read a few of his books, which are excellent.
