Stage and screen actor Rex Harrison was born on this day in 1908. He appeared in 1967’s Doctor Dolittle in the title role. While not a singer, he could "speak on pitch," and the song "Talk To The Animals" won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1968.
Hi John – a wonderful song … while the film ‘is fun’ for the youngsters … thanks – Hilary

That was a great movie. I didn’t bother with the remake.

I haven’t seen either, but I’d probably prefer the original.

John,
I think I saw the original Dr. Dolittle but that’s been too many years ago. We saw the remake with Eddie Murphy when our kids were small. It was good.

I’ve never seen either, if you can believe that. I do remember this song and saw some highlights.

I still love this movie. I wanted a macaw and a pushmi-pullyu in the worst way when I was little. Imagine my disappointment upon discovering that the latter was not real. 😉

Oh yes, I saw this a couple of times way back….it’s …not the best movie but this song is famous sung by Sexy Rexy. He was a bit of a bad boy in his heyday.

A fun movie. I should re-watch that with the grandkids. It would probably be too low tech for the older ones. LOL

You might be surprised, unless your older grandkids are teens. There’s a certain charm to the old kids’ movies…
