Song of the Day: The Wolfe Tones, “The Wearin’ O’ The Green”

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! In honor of the day, here’s a ballad sung by The Wolfe Tones. "Wearin’ O’ The Green" is a song that commemorates the aftermath of the Irish Rebellion of 1798, when all things Irish were forbidden, most notably the wearing of green clothes and shamrocks on St. Patrick’s Day.

  1. Heard this song for years but never knew the history. Thanks for that. Big day for us! Happy St. Patricks day to you and Mary.
