Robert Lockwood Jr., also known as Robert "Junior" Lockwood, would be celebrating birthday #106 today. Lockwood was the only guitarist to have learned to play directly from Robert Johnson, thus the nickname Robert "Junior." He was a longtime associate of Sonny Boy Williamson II and worked on many of Little Walter’s records in the ’50’s. "Mean Black Spider" might have been an unrecorded Robert Johnson song.
This is great John…love his playing and singing.

One of the last of the old-timers. He passed away a while ago. I think Buddy Guy is the last of the post-WWII migration who’s left.
