Weekly Song Challenge, Week 13

Week 13 of Mary B’s song challenge. Here are this week’s prompts:

A Protest Song: Chicago Transit Authority, "Someday." From their first album, before the real Chicago Transit Authority’s lawyers came calling.

A Love Song: Ella Fitzgerald, "Night And Day." Cole Porter’s classic.

A Sport: Jan & Dean, "Surf City." "Two girls for every boy…"

Tally ho and away we go! See you next week with a brand new show!

      1. I don’t think you’re alone in your thinking, John. Being from Florida, surfing is a big attraction, and in California and Hawaii, it is a major sport. If you don’t live in those areas, surfing takes a back seat to other sports.

  1. Love it!! I feel like we kind of match with the love song since we went with songs that were in Astaire/Rogers musicals and were composed by the great songwriters from the 20s and 30s. I love Ella and her great take on this classic song. Chicago is such a great band with real horns and other instruments which you don’t see nowadays. Love that you picked surfing:)

    1. I’m using one of their hot spots, which surprisingly I can actually connect to from home. I’m not sure where it is, but I’m not about to look a gift horse in the mouth. I renewed my VPN license to be safe…
