
Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and radio and TV host Arthur Smith would be 100 years old today. The Arthur Smith Show was the first syndicated country music show on TV; it ran for 32 years and was seen in 90 markets nationwide. In addition to guitar, he played fiddle and banjo. "Guitar Boogie" reached #8 on the Country chart in 1948 and has been covered most recently by Tommy Emmanuel.
