Song of the Day: Ray Ventura, “Ménilmontant”

French jazz pianist and bandleader Ray Ventura was born on this day in 1908. "Ménilmontant" is a song by Charles Trenet to honor the Paris neghborhood in the 20th arrondissemant which was the birthplace of Maurice Chevalier. Ventura recorded it in 1941 with the lyrics sung by Coco Aslan.

  1. Now I love this song which has the big band feel along with the French style of that time period. Loved the pictures as well and I walked right passed that famous station done in the Art Nouveau style.
