One of the first comments I saw on this video.

One-Liner Wednesday is brought to you each week by Linda Hill and this station. Now, here are Señor Wences with Johnny and Pedro for Gunther Beer. Is good!
Gunther was one of the old-time local breweries that have sadly been gobbled up by the major brewers. Since they were based in Baltimore, they were the sponsors for Baltimore Orioles baseball games. (Baseball and beer just go together, you know?) That they managed to snag Señor Wences to do their ads was a major coup for them.
MTV used to play music back in the days when CNN used to show actual news.

I think about it now and, if I had to do it over again, I’d put an antenna on the roof and never mess with cable… One can probably say that MTV is to music what CNN is to news…

Yes, used to love MTV. Miss the Behind the Music series.

Granted, it was like watching the radio sometimes, but they had some great programming. When they brought VH-1 on board a lot of the good stuff moved there, so I started watching that. By then MTV was stuff like “Jersey Shore”…

That quote is hilarious and so very true. Its heyday was in the 1980s. I love that beer commercial because of Senor Wences.

Strange that a local brewery, whose distribution area probably wasn’t more than 100 miles, could get a talent like Señor Wences to do commercials. But, a buck’s a buck…

Commercials back without social comment. Or implication. Just fun. I remember those a little bit. 🙂
