Song of the Day: Sonny James, “Running Bear”

Country singer Sonny James, best known for his song "Young Love," which topped the Country and Pop charts in 1957, was born on this day in 1928. "Running Bear" was released in 1969 and topped the Country charts in the US and Canada.

  1. This song was a mixed bag for me. I liked the music part of it, but the lyrics brought tears to my eyes whenever I heard it.

    Jim Nesbitt wrote a parody titled “Runnin’ Bare” that my 8-year-old self thought was hilarious. I still like it. 🙂
