Melanie has a new batch of questions, meaning I have to come up with another batch of answers…
What inanimate object do you wish you could eliminate from existence? Inkjet and laser jet printers. I have very little use for them, but I have one for the two or three times a year I have to print something, uually to sign and scan so it can be emailed. And of course, it never works when I need to.

What tells you the most about a person? Their actions.

What is something you thought would be easy until you tried it? Explaining relatively simple concepts, like the electromagnetic spectrum, memetics, the Enigma machine etc.

What ridiculous and untrue, yet slightly plausible, theories can you come up with for the cause of common ailments like headaches or cavities? What else? Voodoo!

And I am outta here!

Got to love your answers and would add Fax machines and Trump’s hair for the 1st questions. Love your answers to the next 2 although I would add-people’s inactions are just as telling. Twister is much harder than it looks. The FBI, CIA etc, etc… implanted something in me causing those pains.

I have Canon all-in-one scanner/printer and it’s about 5 years old. It’s noisy but it works well. It’s one of those things that doesn’t get used much but it is there when I need it.

I think that’s about how old our last printer was when it bit the dust.

Bought a Sansung Chromebook. Thought printing would be a breeze. Everything was a breeze until 12/2020. Google discontinued something or other. Suddenly I could print nothing. Got my son-in-law involved who makes his living working with computers. He couldn’t make it work. I hate printers and wish they didn’t exist. Ler’s go back ti thermofax copiers and carbon copiers.

I do everything I can not to have to print anything. Everything that can be printed to a PDF and filed in Evernote goes there. Mary has all her patterns in PDF format sitting on our iCloud. We keep as little paper as we can, and print maybe ten pages a year. My current printer is also a scanner, and we use that a lot more.

Oh, John, you do make me laugh! Thank you for sharing the gift of laughter AND Your World right along with it! Okay now in small, easy-to-understand terms, what the heck is memetics and the Enigma Machine? Thank God for Google or some of us would look right dim! It is tough to be a teacher. They got my respect whatever their subject! Have a wonderful week sir, and see YOU in the funny papers!! Hahahah!!!

My mother’s birthday today. I love Frasier , We have the same crap with printers. Unreal. But actually none of our technology works most of the time. TV’s, Rokus, Amazon firesticks, the internet, Hughesnet up north (though that is actually one of the best), ATT, computers, landline up in the yoop, woodstove chimey, it’s constant and ruins your life. Packing up to get out of here Thurs. for four days.

Happy birthday to your mother! So you’re on the UP? I’ve been to Hancock/Houghton a few times. Very cold in the winter, pretty hot and lots of flies in the summer, as I recall. Have a good time on your time away!

I tossed out my crappy home printer last month. So liberating!

This one has a nice scanner and copier, which I’ll probably use a lot more than the printer.

I have tried on many a Monday to explain a simple concept on my blog. I don’t think I’ve ever really succeeded,

I finally get to the point where I say “screw it, they can read it if they want” and give a link to the Wikipedia page.
