Song of the Day: Taj Mahal, “Cajun Waltz”

Happy birthday to blues and roots musician Taj Mahal, born Henry Saint Claire Fredericks on this day in 1942. Taj is a multi-instrumentalist (plays guitar, harmonica, and piano, among other instruments), a singer-songwriter, and actor (in the 1972 film Sounder) who’s been active for over 50 years. He made an appearance at Northwestern when I was there, and he sang this song, from what was then his new album, 1974’s Mo’ Roots.
