Yesterday was singer and TV star Perry Como’s 109th birthday. He was born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, as was Bobby Vinton (our very own Dan lived there as well), and in addition to being a singer he was a barber. He had 48 hit records on the Billboard pop charts between 1943 and 1987, with at least 17 Gold records (he had more, but refused to have them certified). One of those Gold records was for "Hot Diggity (Dog Ziggity Boom)," which reached #1 in the US and #4 in the UK.
I have always had a soft spot for this song šš

Huh, always thought it was Hot Diggity, Dog Diggity, not ziggity, but it clearly is ziggity. Fun. Nice voice. Kind of a cross between Dean and Bing maybe. Little Frank style thrown in. That was really fun.
